This year's Air Force Sergeants Association's (AFSA) 2007 International Convention has come and gone but the work has just begun. This year's joint AFSA/Professional Military Convention took place August 18-23 in beautiful Orlando, FL. The first night's ice breaker was also a celebration of 60 years of Air Force history and the important events of each decade.
Monday's opening breakfast was highlighted by a talented motivational speaker/magician, Brad Montgomery. Brad was from Chapter 1179's home territory, Denver, CO. His theme, which could be heard for the entire convention, was, "How cool is that?"
Throughout the week AFSA members were treated to several guest speakers from the co-host, CMSAF McKinley, to high ranking officers from the various MAJCOMs to the highlight of the week, the former CMSAFs panel.
At the end was the climatic Awards Banquet which were several Air Force award winners were recognized and the night ended with the presentation of AFSA's 2006 First Term Airman of the Year, Division 12's nominee.
Next year is sure to be just as exciting as the 2008 AFSA/Professional Military Conference will take place in San Antonio, TX, home of the Air Force's basic training and also the birth place of the Air Force Sergeants Association.
